Help How Do I Use Hipstir? Sign Up and Create a Profile Your profile is how other Hipstirs will view your information. Every Hipstir has a profile where you can describe yourself, hobbies, interests, what your looking for, favorite music, movies, tv shows, etc. You can also upload personal photos. Invite Your Friends to Join Your Personal and Private Network When you invite friends they will automatically be added to your friend list and connected to your personal network. If some of your friends are already Hipstir members you can use the search function to find their profile. Then add them as your friend and you will be connected to each others’ personal networks. Search Your Network for Other Hipstirs You Would Like to Meet Enter some criteria in the user search tool and browse through the results. You can view people as a photo gallery or with photos and abbreviated information. Click on any Hipstir photo to view his/her complete profile. Each Hipstir you add as a friend connects you to his/her personal network and vice versa. In no time you will have 1,000’s of Hipstirs in your Personal Network! Meet Your Friend's Friends You can communicate with anyone in your Personal Network. Send messages. smiles, introductions, suggest matches, plan events, etc. You can add Hipstir’s to your bookmarks for future reference. FAQ’s Is Hipstir free? Every feature and function is currently free to our members. How can I change or update the information on my profile? You can change or update your profile by selecting “Edit Profile” from your “Home” page. You can edit this information as often as you like. How do I change my name, email address, age, or password? This information is stored in “My Account Settings”. You can access this from your "Home" page. Can I communicate with Hipstirs that are not in my personal friends list? Yes. You can send messages to anyone in your personal network. If you can see a member’s profile you have the ability to communicate with them. How many friends can I have? How many comments can I have? How many favoritess can I have? How many messages can I post on the forum? As many as you want! There are no limits on these features. Knock ‘em out da box kid... out da box! Can I upload nude pictures to my profile? We cannot stop you but we request that you don’t. Hipstir is happy to operate as a free service to our members, however we rely on advertisers to fund our efforts. The majority of corporate advertisers refuse to advertise on websites with nudity. Consequently, no advertising means no Hipstir. Why do i get an error message when I try to upload an image? Hipstir only accepts image sizes under 300k and .gif or .jpg file formats including. If you are attempting to upload images over the 300k limit or file formats other than those specified, you will get an error message. Why am I getting friend requests from people I don't know? The more friends you have the larger your personal network will become. Some Hipstirs like to be connected to as many people as possible where as others choose to connect only with their real friends. You will always have to approve your “Friend Requests” mail before any member is added to your list of friends. It is not considered rude to deny this request. The decision is entirely up to you. Can I delete comments I've made on other Hipstirs' profiles? No. Once you add a comment to another Hipstir's profile of blog, it’s up to them to accept or reject it. If they choose to accept it then it will be visible on their profile. When I post a message in the forum, can everyone on Hipstir view it? Yes, everyone can see it. The forums are a great place to meet new people and share common interests. What is "Send a Smile"? Send a smile is a quick way to let someone know you like something about them. It’s a simple way to possibly trigger a response from them without spilling your guts. What is “Flag for Review”? In the event that another Hipstir is displaying inappropriate behavior, you can flag them for review. This will send an alert email to Hipstir and we will look into the matter. If I view my own profile will it count toward the total number of times my profile has been viewed? No. It only counts if your profile is viewed by another Hipstir. What can I do if another Hipstir is harassing me? You should ignore them and most likely they will go away. If the harassment continues, please flag them for review and Hipstir will look into the matter. Will Hipstir ever delete my profile or terminate my account without my knowledge? There are a few scenarios that can jeopardize your account: If you are an inactive member for over a 3 month period, if we have received multiple complaints from other Hipstir members regarding your behavior or if you are in violation of our Terms of Use. It is not in our interest to lose any members. We trust that our members are responsible adults who are willing to abide by our Terms of Use. We hope to resolve questionable situations in a cooperative manner. We embrace diversity and creativity as long as it is not disrespectful or at the expense of our other members. How do I cancel my Hipstir account? If you wish to cancel your Hipstir account, login to your home page and select “My Account Settings”. Here you can cancel your account. However, if you choose to do this remember that it will delete all files and information associated with your profile. It will also break the connections you have established with your friends. The information lost cannot be restored. You can rejoin Hipstir at any time but you will need to rebuild your personal network from scratch. How can I help Hipstir?
